About Seirios K9 Dog Training Academy
Seirios K9 helps dogs and their owners build clearer communication, useful obedience and confidence in everyday life. Established in 2013, the academy serves Montreal, Vaudreuil-Dorion and surrounding communities, with instruction in English and French.
Our dog training programs combine engagement, purposeful play, structure and practical owner coaching. We work with dogs of all breeds and sizes and adapt training to the dog’s needs, temperament and learning progress.
Training goes beyond the lesson. We teach you how to practise at home, introduce distractions thoughtfully and maintain the skills you build together. Included group sessions vary by program; additional sessions are available for purchase.
Meet Chris Papakostas, Owner & Certified Dog Trainer
My work with dogs grew from a personal commitment to understanding behavior and helping families build stronger relationships with their companions.
I studied with Master Dog Trainer Harry Kalajian at Montreal Dog Trainers Network. His teaching helped me connect canine ethology and learning principles with practical handling. I completed my course in June 2013 and founded Seirios K9 that year.
Today, I focus on teaching both ends of the leash: building the dog’s skills while helping the owner become a clearer, more confident handler.
During my studies, my rescue dog Princess challenged me to apply what I was learning. Her fear, separation-related difficulties, leash reactivity and strong prey drive reinforced the value of careful observation, patient practice and an individual plan.
That experience continues to shape our approach: understand the dog, build useful foundations and coach the people who live with them.
